Weight loss affirmations are one of the most powerful tools you can use to lose any unwanted weight. Most people at some point in their lives will want to drop a few pounds. If you are one of those people then you know how hard it is to shed those extra pounds in the gym.
To be successful at losing the weight and keeping it off you have to have the right mindset. If you constantly complain that you can’t lose weight, then you wont lose it. We’ve all run into that one friend that says they’ve tried every diet under the sun but just cant shed the pounds. They might lose weight for a short period of time and then gain it all back within 2 weeks.
Its all about your mindset and what we repeatedly say to ourselves that will determine our successes and failures in life. The friend who always complains that diets don’t work and that they can’t lose weight has the mindset of I can’t. They go on diets and it works for a short time. When they stop dieting the pounds roll right back.
They might have negative self-talk about their bodies “I am fat and ugly” or “I can’t lose the weight”. This negative self-talk will manifest in their realities even when they are doing their best to exercise and eat right. The problem is that they haven’t found the root cause of their failure, the negative self-talk mindset.
We can all go on diets and follow the strict meal plan and we will lose weight, but it wont be sustainable if our minds aren’t in the right place.
An affirmation is simply a sentence that you repeat to yourself over and over again. They are short powerful statements that when you say them, think them or hear them they become thoughts that create your reality. If you’d like to learn more about what affirmations are and how to create your own, read this article here.
When we start feeding the mind with positive affirmations we can reprogram the way we look at diet and exercise. Weight loss isn’t something we do, it’s something that has to become part of you. You have to make healthy weight loss a part of your lifestyle. Allow it to become fun and exciting instead of something you dread and try to run away from.
Let the thought of being healthy become your lifestyle. Reprogram your mind to want to eat healthy and exercise on a daily basis. This might sound impossible to some but I assure you that it’s doable.
Are you familiar with Henry David Thoreau? He was an American Philosopher, naturalist and historian. He died in 1862 but left behind a quote I have come to live by. I read it everyday to remind myself that it’s vitally important to keep doing affirmations.
“A single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives.”
Henry knew what had to be done way back in the 1850’s. It’s written out so beautifully and it’s a testament to how simple it is to live the lives we want. We just have to keep thinking about the positive thoughts we want to dominate our lives.
Long term weight loss really starts in your mind. We need to shift our brains into a healthier thinking pattern when it comes to food and exercise. This becomes easier to do if you practice daily affirmations.
Below are 27 affirmations that I have constructed for you
I found motivation from my own experience and the experience of others. I have personally used them and still use them to keep myself on the straight and narrow.
Once you have found one or two or five that you would like to use, write them down. You can do your affirmation whenever you like. I like to do my affirmations just after I wake up.
It’s very simple. Say your affirmations forty times, focus on the words and give them power. You can say them out loud or in your mind. You can do as many as you like too. If you say one affirmation forty times it will literally take only two minutes of your day. Can you spare two minutes every morning?
Find a time that works for you and try it out for at least one month. Notice if anything changes in your life or in the way you approach food and exercise. If you do them everyday I am positive that you will feel and see a difference. With consistency in your affirmation practice you will find success.
